Carson is ready to serve. It hasn't always been an easy road but he has worked so hard, and we have enjoyed watching him grow into the worthy young man he is. We are so proud of him and cant wait to see him do the lords work. I know he will be awesome. Who ever he comes into contact with in Brazil will never forget how special he is. I am doing this blog for him so that everyone that loves him like we do Can feel as close to him as possible during these two years. I also hope that the Blog can help those of you that don't really understand what it is that Carson and other missionaries do and will be doing. And or why Carson would sacrifice two years of his life to go on a mission will understand better. I hope you will see the life changing events that will take place in the lives of those he will be sharing the gospel with, and also his life, and our family's. His choice to go on a mission will bring blessings and joy to so many people that have been looking for a inner peace that they never knew they could find. This blog will be full of all the things Carson shares from Brazil, His Pictures, Feelings about his service there, entrys from some letters and his family's feelings along the way. We will see him learn the portuguese language and count down the days of his return. I will miss Carson until it hurts but i really try to never forget the fact that my son's a loan from Heavenly Father in the first place. We are all his children and he's gave me the privilege of enjoying Carson thus far. I really hope we all feel closer to Carson and feel the spirit of his labors in Brazil through his blog. Im sure Carson will love to receive letters and hear from everyone while he is gone. His address to the MTC will soon be posted on the blog. And his new email will also be posted at a later date when he enters the MTC.

A Missionary Mom
Today, I became a missionary mom.
I watched him walk away.
He lifted his hand and waved goodbye.
I stood there in a daze.
I tried to see the top of his head
As he turned left and then right.
I called to him," Be brave, be strong!"
He disappears from my sight.
Fear grips my heart, what will he do?
It's five thousand miles away?
The culture and the language,
Will he understand what they say?
Emptiness fills my heart and soul,
For this, I'm unprepared.
Let me go back and stop him now,
He's not yet in the air!
Lovingly, my husband guides me,
We walk away with sighs.
Once in the car, we try to pray
But ..instead we cry.
"Where is my strength?" I wondered.
"Where is my light, it's gone!
It is not fair, it's way too hard,
For this new missionary mom!"
Then it comes, a quiet reminder
Flowing into my heart.
"Think of Mary, the mother of Jesus,
Her sacrifice was hard."
"She too watched her son walk away
Feeling emptiness, pain, and loss.
She never wavered, she never doubted
As she knelt at the foot of his cross."
I bowed my head, I felt ashamed,
My sacrifice seemed so small.
My son desires to teach the world
And her Son has saved us all!
It was then I realized, that
Her Son walks with mine!
The Savior's love encircles him,
He's not alone this time.
With gladness and thanksgiving
I fall on bended knees.
My eyes are opened, I understand
That He will also walk with me!
So, I gather up my courage,
Like Mary...stalwart, brave, and strong!
I will not doubt, I'll stand steadfast as
An immovable missionary mom!
